The Boyen Bunch Week in Review...

Who needs romance and adventure and travel, when you have KIDS!! My week in a nutshell... Monday: Regular school day (so I thought!) Student taken away by ambulance after severe asthma attack in classroom! She was crying and coughing and I just KNEW she couldn't breathe. I rushed her to the nurses office, then after two neubulizers treatments, Nursie called 911. Then followed by a faculty meeting with TAKS training. BORING! (I like, need and welcome boring!). Tuesday: Regular school day, tutoring 4th grade math after school, visit to Urgent Care with Bailey to follow. Bailey got an ant bite, that just kept growing and growing and GROWING! I could ignore it no longer. He had to have it lanced, drained and cut away. Topical antibiotics and regular antibiotics to the rescue!! Hand saved! Wednesday: Regular school day, followed by a Wal-Mart trip with all 4 kids. Let me just say, I absolutely hate shopping with all four kids. It should be considered an act of insanity. ...

Book in the making...

So, I've been told by a friend that my stories of motherhood and my kids are so darn funny, that I must right a book. She's right, as a mom of four, I really do have countless funny stories and oh, the things my kids have said. This is of course, his way of gearing up to slug me, only he's always been smart enough to NOT actually do it! As he backed off, and headed back to his seat, I calmly took a sip of my beer and looked across at my dear friend Ros (the one who wants me to write the book) and simply stated..."some days, there's just not enough beer in the world." Aha! My book title.... Motherhood: There's not enough beer, or binkies in the world! Pictured above, the fore men...

Breaks??

So far this spring break, I'm wondering just when the "break" part will begin? Do I get a break as a mother of four? Do I want a break? And just what is this "break" from? We started our break with my youngest darling Lorelei, getting her tonsils and adenoids out. It went rather smoothly, I must say. Since we came home, not a lot has happened. Some good sleeping, some laundry, some cleaning, some making of tiny cupcakes (Savannah my 7 year old got the cutest mini cupcake making set from the school book fair!), some playdates and some blog reading. I am trying to find my voice for blogging by reading others and getting ideas. I've always loved writing, always kept journals, that is until the kids came along. Now there's something I took a break from. I also took a break from my other passion, piano. I sat down at my parent's piano about 3 weeks ago, and could barely read the music. Sad since I went to college on a music scholarship for piano. Motherho...
