We can do hard things...(so say all the inspirational bloggers)!

Oh...but at what price!?!  May-hem has got the Boyen Bunch DOWN! Sick and tired... strep throat for Jonas. And this little girl is just plain old tired! We finally finished up the May concert season with our final concerts last night.  We actually had two...Savannah's end of the year concert and Bailey's concert for his composition class.  It was of course, impossible to be at both. Savannah won last night, since I was at Bailey's YOSApalooza the night before.  I love these musicians of mine...but seriously 5 concerts in 7 days would exhaust anyone. We also had a few things going on with the younger ones too. Jonas had a GT Innovations Expo. Lorelei is always hard at work on Saturdays at gymnastics. Jonas had a concert too...recorders anyone?!?! Mixed in there we threw a baby shower for Nicole, my co-worker and friend expecting her first baby! Not bad for a shower thrown in the school library. (I think I said th

May-hem, I will survive...

From a funny student of mine...he could probably sense my stress! Ha ha...get May-hem?  Yeah, I know, punny...I mean funny!  The last 3 weeks have been the kind of busy, that in your head, you know that if you can just survive the mayhem, it'll all be downhill from here.  One more day left in my mayhem and then the count down to summer begins! I like to participate in after school clubs, particularly ones I know my own kids can benefit from.  For the past few years I've done Solar Cars.  I sponsored the group when Bailey and Savannah were in it, and even one year when I didn't have any kids in it.  This year, Jonas was part of the group.  For whatever reason, solar cars drove me to sleepless nights this year.  I literally would lose sleep on Monday nights, wondering if we could pull these cars off.  Good news...we did and we actually did it well! Race day was Saturday, April 30.  After many weeks of rain, overcast skies, and an impressive storm the night before, w

My baby...

It's that time again...another birthday for my baby, the baby of our family, that is, Lorelei.  For obvious reasons, each of her birthdays hits me harder than her siblings.  She's the baby of the family! She can't be turning 9 tomorrow!  That just seems so old. She even thinks so.  She told me the other day, she'd rather be 7 or 8!  Can you blame her?  It's fun being a kid! This girl... She's is sweet, with a feisty, fiery side.  She's strong and courageous.  Her heart is big and she's full of love for her friends, family and baby dolls!  She's a natural nurturer.  She loves to read, play babies and hang out with her mommy! (She's my little shadow.) She will forever be our baby, no matter how old she is!   Our sweet tiny baby...this might explain why she loves baby dolls so much! One last precious picture of our 8 year old... Happy birthday sweet Lorelei! We love yo
